Seller’s Checklist

Here are some small things that you could do that will make your property more inviting, comfortable, and make you as a seller look and be more professional:

THINGS SELLER CAN DO TO FACILITATE THE SALE OF A HOUSE

  1. Clean the interior and exterior of the house.
  2. Keep all flat surfaces cleared off. Use baskets to hold make-up, and toiletries and store them under the counter after use.
  3. Have all carpets professionally spot treated and cleaned. Keep vacuumed at all times.
  4. Replace all A/C filters throughout the house.
  5. Replace any worn vinyl in the kitchen and dining areas and clean and wax all other vinyl surfaces.
  6. Place a peach fragrance Glade Plug-in in each room.
  7. Keep the lawn cut and edged. Remove all weeds, fertilize, water and encourage growth.
  8. Be sure the doorbell works and has a pleasant chime.
  9. Completely clean out the garage, make room for two cars; clean up any work bench or shop areas and only store things in neatly stacked boxes.
  10. Minimize the amount of furniture in each room and allow for unobstructed vision to all corner areas.

  2. Remove Valuables from sight
  3. Keep home smelling refreshing
  4. Keep lights on (especially weekends)
  5. Be out of the house during open house
  6. Have Form 17 (form that informs of all problems of the home) for potential buyers
